Lead-free Silver Solder on Copper Workshop
February 15, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm CST$35
If you would like to learn how to use a soldering iron and lead free soft solder to create unique designs onto copper metal for making jewelry pieces, this is the class for you. This is a fun and easy process; the results are very exciting and make unique components to include in your jewelry creations. In this workshop, you will be using a soldering iron and lead-free silver solder just like those used in stained glass work. There is no flame involved, just heat. You will be using rubber stamps to create the designs in the molten solder. We will also be doing some cutting, filing, texturing, and patina to make the finished pieces. You will finish with a pair of earrings and a pendant or bracelet. You will also learn to make your own ear wires. The class is limited to 12 students, so sign up early. The $35 class fee includes all materials plus the use of the soldering irons and other tools. This is really a fun project and the results will amaze you!
Please bring a brown bag lunch. There is a refrigerator and microwave oven available.
